Bird Watching
We are lucky to be on the edge of Minsmere RSPB so visitors do not have to travel far (sometimes just to the car park!) to spot some wonderful birds, flora and fauna.Recently sighted were Spoonbills, a Purple Heron, Red Kites and an Osprey. We have resident Swallows and a pair of Barn Owls nest nearby. A rare sighting recently was the Audouin's Gull and there are still Stone Curlews in the surrounding fields.
Many people come just to sight or even just hear their first Bittern which are found in the reed beds on the reserve and last but not least a Flamingo which may well be now off back at Marwell Zoo after a 3 week holiday at Minsmere!
