Corinne and Simon Webber welcome you to this traditional,
cosy, English Inn, located off the B1122 between Yoxford
and Leiston, East Suffolk.
The Eels Foot nestles in the hamlet of Eastbridge close
to the heart of the Heritage Coast and 400 metres from the
RSPB Minsmere Reserve.
The
location is popular with walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. Bicycle hire is available.
The freshwater marshes bordering the Inn afford plenty of
opportunity for watching an abundance of birds and butterflies.
A Bridleway leads you through scenic countryside directly
to the sea, a comfortable walk of less than an hour, linking
to the Suffolk Coastal Path and Dunwich to the north. Footpaths
lead you along the riverside and through woodlands where
red deer gather for the 'rut' in October.
Back
at the Eels Foot you can enjoy Adnams Cask Ales and wines
or sample a glass of Suffolk Aspalls Cidar. Full meals or
bar snacks with a good choice of vegetarian options are
available every day.
For those wishing to stay a while we have six comfortable
ensuite bedrooms, one with wheelchair access. We also arrange bed and breakfast for
dogs at nearby kennels.
Our extensive gardens and patio areas are the ideal spot
for a little lazyman's bird watching. We have high hopes
that our new Barn Owl nesting box will soon attract some
new residents!
The
Eels Foot has a long tradition of Folk Music and musicians
still gather on a Thursday evening for a jam session. This
'Squit Night' attracts minstrels from near and far. Guitars,
Banjos, Concertinas and even the Bagpipes can sometimes
be enjoyed playing together in harmony! For a more Traditional
Folk experience come along on the last Sunday in the month
and join in the chorus of an old
sea shanty or two.
